| Severe Weather 
 Destructive / Severe weather for shore commands supported 
by NAVTRAMETOCFAC, is defined as:
 -Convective activity that will produce
 surface wind gusts of 50 knots or greater
 -Hail 3/4" or greater at the surface
 -Tornadic activity
 
 
 NAVTRAMETOCFAC is required to issue warnings for Sub-Region 
CHARLIE.
 
 All air traffic departing NAS Pensacola must be briefed on 
severe weather warnings issued by the National Weather 
Service (NWS) and also provided information on potential 
severe weather areas for long cross-country flights.
 
 Every Forecast Duty Officer (FDO) must have a thorough 
working knowledge of the synoptic situations, parameters 
for analysis, and severe-storm forecasting procedures.  
For local areas, weather radar is an excellent tool to 
detect severe weather.
